It is official
Just in time for the fall/winter knitting, crochet & spinning.
Saints and sinners has put up some beautiful yarn and wool ready for spinning!
This is a beautiful hand dyed Austrian wool roving, just waiting for someone to get their talented hands on it to spin it.
These colors are gorgeous. I would love to see the yarn spun from this and then the finished product!
Annalisa Hand Dyed Wool Top Roving.
Just in case you don’t know and want to know very briefly
after wool is combed and possibly carded and in this case dyed it is made into roving, top or batts to be felted, spun or woven.
Roving is a long piece approximately 2-4 inches in diameter with the fibers in random direction. Top is also a long piece; however the processing is more complex. The combing and drawing of the wool keeps the individual fibers parallel.
Off topic a bit, did anyone see the full moon last night? It was about as yellow as this as it was rising!
It was unbelievable!
Batts are like flat roving,
the fibers are in random direction but the initial shape is thinner in depth and can be several inches wide and long.
Love the ocean blue water colors!
Looking at these, I feel a need coming on!

I didn’t know any of that wool info, so thanks for clarifying. I love the blending of the colors in the yellow wool, and you are spot on with the gorgeous ocean blues of the second picture.
