Our friends Deb and Wendy from DIYthing have just launched their magazine DIY City Magazine. They started the mag so they could highlight different cities and the DIY and independent design communities that lie within. The first city is NYC and you don’t want to miss this issue or any for that matter I am sure. They take you on a dream tour of the the fabulousness that lies within this great metropolis. Leave all those mega branded stores behind and take a walk down a path a little less traveled but whole lot richer. At least on this tour you will actually get to meet and know the designers along the way. How many times have you gone to NYC and actually met Ralph Lauren or Donna Karen?

Deb and Wendy have included in this issue lot’s of resources, interviews, local designer markets, pictures of designer studios….also keep your eyes peeled for the lovely part about Smashing Darling (hint starts page 80) and the darling designers they highlighted….JenJoy, Boaz, Yosifa Penina to name a few. I am savoring every bit and morsel and want to check out as many places as I can! Just in case you missed it the first time around, you can read our interview with the Deb & Wendy, the queens of DIY.

Thanks for the shout-out. It has been so fun doing the mag and meeting everyone. We just love indie designers and love all who believe in DIY. Thanks for your support and agreeing to be in the mag. New Orleans is next – so stay tuned. Deb & Wendy
