About LadyLux:
Once upon a time, there was girl named LUX. She believed in humanity, doing good for the sake of good, and all things beautiful in our world. As she grew older and began to take stock of the world around her, her mission in life became clear: be a Change Agent. The tasks associated with being an “Agent” is to use her mind and voice to help fix what is broken in the world and empower the people in it to do the same. Thus was born The Lady LUX Network.
At LadyLUX, our motto is “Good for the Sake of Good.” We believe in doing good and being good, while looking good. We believe in fashion, life, love, philanthropy, eco-luxury and laughter. We empower women to follow their passions, live authentically, and to honestly know and love themselves. Choosing health and your best self, being good to others and good to the environment is simply living the LUX life. In each outfit we put together, we always include organic and “green” items that were created with the idea of sustainability.

Smashing Darling Set: LadyLUX by MsLadyLUX on Polyvore.com
As the anchor for this outfit, I chose the Miranda top from the 615 Project. It’s an extremely wearable piece – offering femininity, comfort and a bit of LUXury. I love the cut and how it drapes over a woman’s body, accentuating her curves, making her look like a Greek goddess. It blends the classic colors and fabrics with an updated silhouette via the flowy silk material.
I paired the free flowing top with a more retro, 80’s inspired pant, that’s basic and grounded as much as it is modern and fun. The Organic Crop Pegged Pant from designer Laura Dawson is made of organic cotton, with silk detailing. Fashionable pants that are also made with the best ingredients? Well, that’s simply LUX!
Continuing with the good for you / good for the environment theme, I continued this story with a Sustainable Benie Club Clutch from the rlee Collection. This clutch purse is not only gorgeous and whimsical, it’s also made with Mother Earth in mind. Made of recycled plastic bottle fabric, it’s adorned with Italian Leather and Brooch. Now that’s a way to combine environmental responsibility with utmost style! You can wear multipurpose clutch out to a party, date or cocktails with friends, as well as to work, lunch or a movie.
And of course, no outfit is complete without a slightly to die for pair of lace up gladiators. Since spats are all the rage this season, I have paired these Mariana Cut-Out Spats from Ashes and Empires, to be worn with a basic black stiletto heel pump. I selected these shoes to accent our cropped pant and show off the lace front detail.
As far as accessories, I decided to start with a perfect scarf. I’m a huge scarf aficionado, and wanted this outfit to reflect my personal style. At the same time, for such a summertime outfit, it’s important to select a scarf that’s light as air. This gorgeous gossamer “Confetti Scarf” from Pamela Penney is certainly one of a kind. I am not quite sure how this web-like concoction of fabric, yarn and fibers holds together, but it looks amazing.
Even though our scarf can be worn without jewelry, I wanted to pair it with a few equally unique pieces from Dina Varano, a jewelry artist I’ve come to know and love through Smashing Darling. Dina has an extraordinary ability to combine sculptural and ephemeral, wrapping it all into a delightful cocktail of precious and semi-precious stones and metals. Her pieces are full of movement and mystery. I have chosen Bone Earrings to go with our burnt orange scarf; they are made with sterling silver and Carnelian Stones.
I’m not huge fan of being matchy-matchy with my jewelry, so I didn’t match the bracelet or the necklace to the earrings; however the bracelet and pendant reflect a similar theme. The Millipede Necklace, also from Dina Varano, is made form 14kt gold and brushed sterling silver, and was showcased in the American Craft Magazine in 2007. The pendant’s delicate wirey look is a perfect complement to the Crowd Bangle Bracelet; both items full of movement and spontaneity.
Live. Love. LUX.
