For this week’s set I wanted to do something fun, fresh and a little retro. Perhaps I’ve been bitten by the Mad Men bug and wanted to pay homage to the feminine lines of ‘50s glam. I was quite happy to stumble upon the Black Chiffon Top Seahorse Dress from the Kwabena line by Andrew Osafo, a full-skirted beauty with an African-inspired seahorse print design. Since everything old is new again, this is a new spin on a retro ‘50s look. Consistent with this look, the dress features a a feminine V-neck, empire waist, satin tie in the back and flounce sleeves.  Very timely for the coming month of October, this is a great transitional piece for early fall.

Because the neckline of our dress is simple in comparison to the skirt and sleeves, we wanted to choose a necklace that really stands out. The Lunar Eclipse necklace from Rutigliano Design is gorgeous, feminine, and its asymmetrical shape really captures attention.

If you want to wear an updo with this very feminine outfit, you can adorn your hair with the very retro Victoriana Silver Bow Hair Comb from Tilleyjewels. This gorgeous antique silver bow comb even features a Swarovski pearl drop.

No outfit is complete without a fabulous handbag. The suede Bijou Clutch by rlee is adorned with Italian Leather and Rhinestone Brooch. This handbag is elegant and sophisticated without overpowering the ensemble.

To give our outfit some colorful shimmer, I chose the Artisan Crafted Chaos Ring from Ahna. It’s beautiful, iridescent and perfect for day or night. The ring features multi-colored gemstones, consisting of Pink Tourmaline, Yellow Sapphire, African Amethyst, Rhodolite Garnet, Champagne Zircon and Pink Sapphire. Handcrafted and unique, it will make any woman feel like a princess.

About LadyLux:
Once upon a time, there was girl named LUX. She believed in humanity, doing good for the sake of good, and all things beautiful in our world. As she grew older and began to take stock of the world around her, her mission in life became clear: be a Change Agent. The tasks associated with being an “Agent” is to use her mind and voice to help fix what is broken in the world and empower the people in it to do the same. Thus was born The Lady LUX Network.
