Independent designer and darling, K. Hendrix, along with 14 other designers are on deck to dazzle you for an evening of art, music, and fashion. In the meantime, you can shop the K. Well we know this is late notice, but we wanted to share this lovely snapshot of Darling Headquarters! If you are down in the southeast corner of CT, swing by Frock tonight in Chester for the Holiday Stroll. No worries if you can’t make it tonight…Mergirl and Whosiepie are there for the next three Sundays for the Chester Sunday Holiday Market. We have a hankering to road trip up to Boston one of these Sunday afternoon’s to stroll through the new-ish Boston Independent Designer’s Market in the South End. We love seeing more opportunities pop up for independent designers across the country. If you are hitting the holiday shows this weekend in Boston, swing over to the Bazaar Bizarre and meet Darling Stonehouse Studio! Of course you could always stay cozy at home and shop up a storm here at Smashing Darling. Whatever you choose, we hope you have a great weekend darlings.

I always searched under the Christmas tree for the smallest box I could find on Christmas morning. I knew there would be a lovely, sparkly jewel in there picked out by Dad (a.k.a Santa) that I would oooh and ahhh over all day long. If you are in Providence this Saturday go pick out your own favorite little sparkle handmade by RISD alum at the RISD Holiday Sale. Swing by the booth of Dina Varano for something handmade by her, if you can’t make it… go check out her store on Smashing Darling. Take a quick virtual field trip to her studio via the Daily Art Muse and be inspired.

It’s time for Rock & Shop Market down in North Carolina darlings! This is our kind of holiday, or anytime, shopping for sure. Live music, food trucks, a fashion show, and over 60 independent fashion designers selling their goods. We wish we could be there to meet Darling Sonya Coulson Rook, designer of Metamorphosis, who sells here designs here on Smashing Darling. If you are nearby go meet her yourself, along with all the other wonderful darlings who will be there.
Shop local this Holiday season. Mark your calendars for the 11th Rock & Shop Market/Block Party this Saturday December 4th from 12-6pm at two venues in Durham: Motorco Music Hall & Fullsteam Brewery across the street. The venues are located at 723 & 726 Rigsbee Ave. Durham, NC 27701.
There will be food trucks (Only Burger, Klausies Pizza, DaisyCakes, Slippin Slidders), 60 designers selling their wares, a fashion show and the bands The Ox Magnolia and Onward, Soldiers! Admission is $5. First 50 attendees receive a free shopping tote. For directions and a list of all the designers visit www.rockandshopmarket.com. Plenty of free parking is available.
