It’s summer and all we want to do is flit around in our favorite dresses! How fitting that the Featured Boutique this week is Darling Gina Michele. Her dresses are made of oh-so-cozy bamboo jersey, and come in many a color and style. What makes a fab dress even better? Brynn Capella is a Southern California native who’s come a long way from her first handmade faux fur handbag that stopped passers-by on the sunny streets of Beverly Hills in the late nineties! From a very early age, she displayed an interest in fashion and design, whether she was playing dress-up or drawing her own designs.
Her creative nature was brought to the forefront during her college years at San Diego State University. Brynn’s talent was evident as she studied art, graphic design and advertising, yet her interest and intuition in broadcasting and music led her after college to the Music Director position of a San Diego radio station.
In an effort to save some money, she began making handbags as gifts for her friends and family. After years of constant compliments and requests from friends and strangers alike, Brynn realized that it was much more than a hobby! (Keep reading…)

We were thrilled to share with you, about a month back, that Darling Deanna Burasco had her designs coming down the runway at the West 18th Street Fashion Show in Kansas City. We love that this show supports local designers and is free to the public. Even better it takes place outside in the heart of the community’s center for art and fashion, taking up the entire block. It’s true, we want to go — (sigh) and someday we will! Here are some images of Deanna’s pieces and the looks they went with below. Happy Friday Darlings! This news is a few days old but we like to start Friday off with a little giddy cheering (or squealing if you are TrishDarling). Frock — the home of Smashing Darling, TrishDarling’s line Mergirl, and the fab Whosiepie as well — took a lovely 2nd place in the E-List’s CT Shoreline Readers Poll for Best Women’s Clothing! Yahooooo! Darling Dina Varano also took 2nd for Best Jewelry along with a bunch of other favorite shoreline spots for vintage, food, and more – see the entire list here.

Are you runway ready? If you haven’t already heard the buzz buzz … Gen Art is alive and kicking and on the hunt for emerging designers in NY and LA. Here are some of the details and requirements below, full information here.
Who can apply?
Fashion designers who have been in business for 1-7 years, will be producing at least 10 looks for their Spring 2012 collection and have shipped and sold to at least one store. Lines that have shown before in a NY or LA runway show cannot be considered.
REQUIREMENTS:
In order to be eligible to participate in Gen Art’s Fresh Faces in Fashion show, applicants must meet the following requirements:
