Threadshow Seattle

/

Seattle peeps who love slow fashion and shopping locally made goods, Thread is coming to town again. It is never to early in the season to holiday shop or birthday shop for that matter. I know I have gotten very good about buying things when I see them even if I have to hang onto for 6 months. You gotta get when you see it. It feels really good to mosey around and take in the whole experience. Little by little your eyes will start to notice items perfect for family and friends. The best part, the person behind the table wrapping your new found handmade treasure in tissue … probably made said object. Gifts are that much more special when they come from with a story. So make sure to strike up a conversation. You’ll be hooked.

Darling designer Karelle Levy, KRELwear, will be one of the designers taking over the subway track runway. Have we peaked your curiosity yet? There is more info about the event on the Exhibit Ambush website.

Oct 1  4:00PM // Second Floor

After the success of Content in 2009, we’re again inviting our favorite local designers to individually take over one of 28 rooms on the second floor of Ace, and transform them into a living, breathing expression of their brands and unique inspirations. This event is not a trunk nor fashion show, but a representation of the sensibilities of Portland designers and a portrait of the vibrancy of our local design culture in relation to the larger fashion world in Los Angeles, New York and abroad.

Hey Philly darlings! Go support some local fashion tonight, learn more here. Philadelphia Design Initiative … well, you sound smashing! Thanks for supporting independent fashion in your community.

As new fall runway fashions make their way onto the streets, it can be hard to create sartorial singularity.  Saving you from the world of copy-cat design, the Philadelphia Design Initiative, a new local-design repping org created by Melanie Gershman and Scott Yesner, is hosting a fashion show called Fresh and Local. The runway extravaganza is meant to showcase the creative forces in style that are springing up locally… (Read full article @ Citypaper)
