After the success of Content in 2009, we’re again inviting our favorite local designers to individually take over one of 28 rooms on the second floor of Ace, and transform them into a living, breathing expression of their brands and unique inspirations. This event is not a trunk nor fashion show, but a representation of the sensibilities of Portland designers and a portrait of the vibrancy of our local design culture in relation to the larger fashion world in Los Angeles, New York and abroad.

Reif clothing will spend more time on shoulders and hips than in closets.
Lindsey Reif is a self-taught seamstress and designer living in Portland, Oregon. She took up sewing as a hobby after migrating to Oregon from the midwest. Her first projects were one-offs, made from tablecloths, curtains, or whatever she could find at thrift stores. Since then, her creations have evolved into well-tailored, smart garments. In 2008, Lindsey decided to launch her own line, Reif, a collection of men’s and women’s clothing. Finding frustration with her own wardrobe, and the lack of pieces to tie everything together, Lindsey decided to create these wardrobe staples. (Continue reading…)

See the full schedule and buy tickets at the Grand Opening website (also the darling hosts of the occasion). Don’t forget you can shop those same runway looks in that very space. When there isn’t a runway event the space morphs into a pop-up boutique as well. Most excellent we think! See dates and times below. How about one of these for every city? Sounds good to us…

Luminaa was created by Dorothy Williams in 2008. After graduating from Texas Woman’s University in Fashion Design and studying in Paris at the Paris Fashion Institute, she moved to New York to study Museum Studies: Costume & Textiles at the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1998. After graduating with her Master’s Degree, Dorothy spent nearly 10 years in the industry working for various companies as a Technical Designer.
