Born and raised in India, Avni’s designer, Avni Trivedi, spent her formative years immersed in the rich history, vibrant fashion, and beautiful art of Indian culture. From a young age, the crafts of local artisans fascinated Trivedi, who fell in love with the handmade fabrics she scouted out at artisan fairs in the villages of Gujarat. Lindsey Reif is a self-taught seamstress and designer living in Portland, Oregon. She took up sewing as a hobby after migrating to Oregon from the midwest. Her first projects were one-offs, made from tablecloths, curtains, or whatever she could find at thrift stores. Since then, her creations have evolved into well-tailored, smart garments. In 2008, Lindsey decided to launch her own line, Reif, a collection of men’s and women’s clothing. We are sending ourselves to Bend, Oregon this weekend in spirit. That’s right, little darling clones are going to go have a fabulous time and finally meet Stuart Breidenstein of Go Robot. We couldn’t be more excited; Stuart was one of the very first designers to open a boutique on Smashing Darling back in 2007!
