We asked Owen Geronimo of San Francisco Merchants Alliance to give us the lowdown on their monthly First Thursday’s event: Portfolio Night, the next being tonight, if you find your way there – do tell us all about it!

Portfolio night, a.k.a industry meetup, is a monthly social networking night in San Fransisco for all local talents that want to get involved or find connections in the local art and fashion industry. We sometimes install a photo booth for aspiring models and have them work with stylists on site.
All attendees are encouraged to market their talent and mingle with other attendees to really take advantage of our resources in connecting people and relationship building. They are encouraged to bring their portfolio in hope that we are able to assign them collaborative projects and also offer creative advice, mainly this event is for those curious about how to navigate the local fashion and art circuit.
On your way upstairs for Portfolio Night you are greeted by the art reception for the exhibiting artist in conjunction of First Thursdays and Artwalk in downtown Union Square. We are all about empowerment and sharing innovative ideas, the new slogan for San Francisco Merchants Alliance, Inc’ is: Fashion For The People.
