How to start shopping
READY TO START SHOPPING? HERE’S HOW!
Shopping on SmashingDarling couldn’t be easier. Here’s how it works, step-by-step.
Step 1: Sign Up
To begin buying, start by creating an account. Creating an account is 100% FREE, safe, and secure. All we need is your email address (so we can send a confirmation after you’ve made a purchase.) You’ll choose a username and password which you’ll then use to log in every time you return. That’s it!
Step 2: Begin browsing
After you’re signed up, head back to the homepage and start looking around. You can start by choosing a search category from the menu, searching with a keyword, or browsing through the newly listed items, featured items, or stylist picks. There are lots of ways to search ... it’s all up to you!
Step 3: Add an item(s) to your cart
When you find something you’d like to make your own, look for the red “add to cart” button that you’ll find on every item page. Once you’ve added an item to your cart, you’ll be prompted to either check out (complete the purchase) or continue shopping.
Once you’ve added an item to your cart, it’ll stay in your cart as long as you’re on the site or until you decide to remove it. You can view the contents of your cart at any time by clicking on the shopping cart icon at the top of every page.
Step 4: Checkout
When you’ve shopped ‘till you’re about to drop and it’s time to get your new items headed on their way, you’re ready to begin the checkout process. You can check out at any time by viewing the contents of your cart and clicking the red “check out now button” at the bottom of the page.
Once you initiate the secure checkout process, there are four easy steps:
- Log in (if you haven’t already)
- Choose your shipping method
- Choose your payment method (payments are accepted by Visa, MasterCard,
American Express, and Discover credit cards.) - Place order
Our checkout process is very similar to many other online shopping sites, so it should feel very comfortable to you if you’re a seasoned online shopper. And even if you’re not, you’ll find it very easy and intuitive. Throughout the process, you’ll be able to change your order, and will review and approve the details of your order in the final step before your credit card is charged.
After you’ve placed your order, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided, annd your purchases will soon be on their way.
