The focal point of this necklace is a lovely 12mm x 20mm Australian Boulder Opal teardrop. Boulder Opal always fascinates me because you never know what colors are going to manifest or what kind of design will be brought forth. This particular stone shows some lovely browns of course with delightful shocks of purple and touches of gold.
I have handwrapped sparkling 4mm faceted Tanzanite rondelles, 4.5mm Australian Boulder Opal rounds and 6mm Freshwater Pearls with an iridescence that is just gorgeous to create a chain for the necklace. The pearls flash purple, gold and brown and are much lovelier in person than they photograph. I used gold fill wire to make the chain. A gold fill lobster claw clasp and 22kt gold vermeil ring finish this one of a kind necklace.
It measures 26" and the pendant falls about 3/4" from the center.
