About a dozen balls of stainless steel are individually fuse welded onto each ring. The welding process causes a surface oxidation leaving the embellishments with a chromish black finish.... like the shiny black of graphite. I add a high polish to the band. I also make and include a wooden display for the set. The stainless steel will not tarnish or rust.
