Bold and simple.
I am aware of the symbolism of the red star, but I chose it for it's clean lines and bold color, nothing more, nothing less.
A handmade sterling silver frame setting hugs a bit of vintage(30+ years old) Bakelite/Catalin in lovely opaque red... The area underneath the Bakelite is finished to a bright shine and sealed, while the remaining metal was blackened and brushed to a dark, scratched glow- a little romantic, a little industrial...
The chain is sterling silver and finished with a sterling silver lobster clasp. The disk on which the star stretches is approximately 1 1/8" in diameter. The chain is approximately 18" in length.
