Sterling Oval Sumi-E Pendant

Sumi-E means "black ink painting" and refers to the traditional form of Chinese brush painting.
This lovely pendant features a hand drawn and hand cut floral design in sterling silver sheet soldered onto a backing of sterling silver which is then patinaed to give it that black color. The front is high polished for contrast and then I fire a clear enamel coating over top of the "black silver" to protect the finish. It hangs from a 16" black ribbon with sterling silver lobster clasp and 2" extender to take it to 18".
