Designer Profile

About Me

I am a down home sort of designer. My training as a designer and seamstress started at home with my mom in Marion, New York when I was 12. I carelessly stained a peasant blouse she had made when she was 15. In the process of bleaching and scrubbing to get the mud stain out she ended up creating a new pattern from the tattered pieces that remained. From this pattern spawn many peasant blouses and eventually different designs based on this vintage pattern.
I now live in Portland, Maine and continue to design and sew bags, clothing, and other accessories. I find it hard to make the same thing twice and am always looking to make something extraordinary from the materials around me.
My work almost always has a natural yet funky feel to it. Each peice has a life of it's own. I strive to make clothes that are comfy, well built, and that make you feel fabulous. Enjoy!

Who or what inspires you?

I get inspiration to sew from the beautiful women in my life who know how to wear gorgeous clothes. They know what it means to love themselves and are not afraid to show that to everyone through the ways they adorn themselves.
