Brynn Capella is a Southern California native who's come a long way from her first handmade faux fur handbag that stopped passers-by on the sunny streets of Beverly Hills in the late nineties! From a very early age, she displayed an interest in fashion and design, whether she was playing dress-up or drawing her own designs.
Her creative nature was brought to the forefront during her college years at San Diego State University. Brynn's talent was evident as she studied art, graphic design and advertising, yet her interest and intuition in broadcasting and music led her after college to the Music Director position of a San Diego radio station.
In an effort to save some money, she began making handbags as gifts for her friends and family. After years of constant compliments and requests from friends and strangers alike, Brynn realized that it was much more than a hobby!
Which brings us to today...several years, several modifications and over a thousand Brynn Capella handbags later. Although for a long time she sewed every order herself, in 2006, she needed to move to the next step. Since Brynn still wants everyone who owns one to feel special, she continues to produce her designs in the US in small quantities.
She now makes the windy city her home, but continues to bring a refreshing, charming and flirty feminine "So Cal" style to the arms of women across the country. You'll notice that much of her inspiration comes from her coastal upbringing and her music background. She loves to use fabrics that are distinct and stand out with a little flair...Why wear a basic black handbag, when you can make a statement?
Just own a Brynn Capella Original Handbag and you will find out that everyone will want to know where you got your bag! It's more about what inspires me...color, sunsets, oceans, nature, bridges...but if I had to name people, I would say my friends and family. They inspire every shape and size in my designs. Who I admire is Kate Spade and Orla Kiely...I love simple and classic, I just want to make it affordable and not mass-produced.
