Each piece is created using hand-picked gemstones and only the finest materials available including precious gemstones, tahitian & south sea pearls, solid sterling silver, high-karat gold & platinum.
About the Artist...
The Passementerie collection of artisan fine jewelry is designed by Courtney Laine, a young designer who has already made her mark on the contemporary fine jewelry market with collectors as well as with industry press. Her work is instantly recognizable because of her unique style, combining stunning beadwork with traditional and contemporary metalsmithing techniques.
Deriving inspiration from the past, be it art, architecture, history or fashion itself, Courtney's fine jewelry creations are gaining industry recognition for their style, quality and fine artisan details.
Signature statement pieces in rich, bold color combinations are favored by contemporary women with an eye for quality, while her Modern Heirlooms Collection, combining fine antique lockets and findings with precious gemstones, are treasured by those with an affinity for the past.
From the beginning, Courtney has made it one of her primary goals to change the perception of beadwork as costume or fashion jewelry by using only fine gemstones, 18-24k gold, platinum and sterling silver in her designs. You will never see Passementerie jewelry created with gold/silver plated, gold vermeil or gold filled metals or with imitation or lab-created gemstones!

Professional Training...
I
began designing & crafting jewelry in 1998, as my passion for
jewelry design grew I made the decision to turn my hobby into a
business and Passementerie was born in 2000. I am entirely self taught,
which has allowed me to take my time, to truly explore the materials
that I work with & perfect my craftsmanship. This self-taught
approach has given me the freedom to explore alternate techniques of
working with gemstone beads, which lead to the development of some of
my most treasured signature designs: cascading tendrils of the finest
gems & pearls perched atop exquisite gemstone briolettes, lush
clusters of gems accented by miniature curls of solid 18k gold,
platinum & sterling silver, my signature gem encrusted chains, and
the Modern Heirlooms collection which combines antique lockets &
findings with fine gems & pearls.

Who or what inspires you?
My style is a little bit of high-fashion with lots of opulent bohemian influence...some of my inspirations are: Betty Catroux, Loulou de la Falaise and Talitha Getty
