Radka Design is a collection of wire jewelry that uses traditional textile techniques (crochet) combined with hammering and forming to manipulate silver and gold filled wire into flat as well as 3-dimensional designs.
Fascinated by anything made by hand, Radka learned the secrets of crochet, knitting and sewing at an early age. After graduating with degree in Fashion Design she took a job in Manhattan as a technical designer for several years, but she never shook the exciting possibilities of combining jewelry and textile techniques. So, after she developed a loyal following of customers and secured a few accounts, Radka decided to leave her day job and begun to expand Radka Design. Today the pieces have blossomed into a dynamic collection. It features groups of distinct shapes and dimensions, but all the work contains the intriguing unions of crochet and metal, lightness and strength.
Radka makes each piece in her studio by hand, hook and hammer.
