About Me

***FAIRYTALE JEWELS FOR THE EVERYDAY PRINCESS***

Once I thought I wanted to rule the world but I got distracted by something sparkly...

Many of my childhood weekends were spent traveling with my mother, a basket weaver, to craft shows. A lot of them were historical festivals where everyone dresses in period costumes. I always wanted to be Scarlett O'Hara--I ended up as Laura Ingalls.

I've been involved with the local artists' guild since fourth grade, both taking and teaching classes. In grade school my best friend learned to crochet and I was creating tiny seed bead accessories--we had the best dressed Barbies in town. From painting to papermaking to pottery, I've experimented with almost every medium available but beads always somehow seemed to be involved. Since 1997 I've worked almost exclusively with beads and wire, but all of those past techniques play a huge part in the way I create.

My husband and I have three daughters--an artist, a socialite and a certified princess--who all contribute to the business in their own way. In addition to creating my own lines, I work as a designer for an award-winning bridal accessories company.  I am a juried member of the Illinois Artisan Program.
